Things are slowly returning to normal, including social events, concerts, and group gatherings.
Comic conventions are back as well, with several major ones on our coverage plate for later this year, but also the smaller regional ones.
After two years away, KC FanCon returned to the Douglas County Fairgrounds for its 56th total show. The show began almost two decades ago, under promoter Craig Klotz, and though has moved locations over the years, has become a mainstay event for comic book, toy, science fiction, and related collectors.
Dealers filled forty tables and traveled from the immediate area and surrounding states, to cater to a brisk, buying crowd on a good weather Spring afternoon.
The show boasts free admission after 3pm and for children 13 and under, as well as if you join their mailing list.
As it was a Spring show, each dealer also had an Easter Egg page hidden somewhere amongst their stock of product, that a customer could find, and redeem up front for a free prize.
Organizing several shows a year, Collectorama is on June 11 and features a broader, more pop culture dealer offering, Free State Con is scheduled for September 10 and is a bigger comic show with several creator guests, and a Topeka show will return in an updated format, sometime later this fall.
