We talked about Texas’ Blue Water Highway in March 2021, when they released their new single “Council Grove” from their album Paper Airplanes.
Talking about the new album, singer/guitarist Zack Kibodeaux said, “Find a way to fly, feet on the ground. We set out to make an album about recapturing childhood wonder, about how to dream as an adult. We wanted it to sound true to the places we come from—like the contrast between the urban and the rural, technological progress and grounded tradition. Like a kid building a space ship in a barn. In the process we rediscovered the wonder of playing music again, and ended up with something that means more to us than anything we’ve released before. These songs have been a long time coming—held back by other projects, other musical directions, even a pandemic—and we are so happy to finally share them with you.”
Now that the Paper Airplanes is out and COVID restrictions have lifted for live concerts, the band is out touring in support of the new record.
One of the dates on their schedule will be at the Turf Club in St Paul on August 20, 2021.
Minneapolis-based singer/songwriter Luke LeBlanc to open.
Tour dates:
8/21- Aurora, IL- The Venue
8/25- London, KY- Laurel County Public Library
8/26- Nashville, TN- The High Watt

Brooklyn band The Rad Trads officially changed their name to The RT’s with the release of See You Again last year.
Regarding the name change, Patrick Sargent (vocals, saxophone, keys) reflected, “This name change is an update, and one that may be long overdue or may just be right on time. A shift, a maturing, a removal of preconceived notions. Quite simply, the name and the music no longer make sense together, but the music and the people who make it have never made more.”
Sargent ends his thoughts with, “The band has always been steeped in the kind of communal exchange that defines traditional music, and that hasn’t changed. But our music has.”
The RT’s is promoting the new album with a 2021 “See You Again” Summer Tour, and will be stop by the Turf Club on August 21st, in St Paul.
