We mentioned the sudden passing of Adam Schlesinger from Fountains of Wayne on April 1, 2020 to the Coronavirus.
The remaining band members of Fountains of Wayne (Chris Collingwood, Jody Porter, and Brian Young), have reformed to try and fight the COVID-19 pandemic. They’ve asked New Jerseyan Sharon Van Etten to join them, and together, the band live recorded FoW’s “Hackensack”… in typical stay-at-home zoom-style.
The song is available for purchase via Bandcamp and proceeds will benefit New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund’s Jersey 4 Jersey to fight the impact of COVID-19.
Note: The song is available to download for one month only, so buy it while you can.
New Jersey’s Governor Phil Murphy said, “I’m touched to mention that the surviving members of Fountains of Wayne, will be performing with Sharon Van Etten…in a special tribute to band co-founder and Montclarion Adam Schlesinger, who we lost to COVID-19.”
