Personally speaking, I don’t blame Morrissey for this one, considering they might be on the road and the flooding had caused delays in their travel or for safety reasons.
Here’s the full statement from the venue, White Oak Music Hall:
"Due to complications from the extreme flood conditions in the Houston area, the Morrissey / Interpol concert set to take place tonight has been re-scheduled for Oct 28th.
It was determined to move the event in consideration and respect of the troubles that people in the area have recently encountered.
It is the group’s wishes that the rescheduled date can better serve all who would like to come to the event.
Morrissey’s team reached the decision after hearing that a number of ticket buyers were having issues attending tonight’s event, along with information of current road closures and other related problematic details.
The team would like to express their deepest apologies for any inconvenience to the fans.
All tickets originally purchased for September 21st show will be honored for the new date on October 28th, 2019."
We know there’s a lot of questions here, so we hope this answers them:
Q. Is the show canceled?
A. No, but it IS being postponed.
Q. What is the new date?
A. October 28th, 2019.
Q. Is Interpol playing the new date?
A. Yes! We are going to bring both bands back on the rescheduled date.
Q. What is going to happen with my tickets?
A. Your ticket, including all parking and upgrade vouchers, will automatically be valid for the rescheduled date. You don’t have to do anything on your end.
Q. What if I can’t make the rescheduled date?
A. Totally get it. We hope everyone can join us, but know this can throw off everyone’s plans. If you can’t make the new date, e-mail [redacted] and we will put the refund back on the original card used to purchase tickets. For tickets bought in cash at the WOMH box office, come by the box office and we will get you a refund. IMPORTANT: Refund requests are due by 9/30/2019.
Q. I bought tickets from someone else. How do I get a refund?
A. If you bought your tickets from a friend, Craigslist, StubHub, or anywhere that was NOT off of our website (or at our box office), please contact the person who you bought the ticket from.
Q. I told you Morrissey was going to cancel!
A. We get it, we’re so bummed by this. Everyone is dedicated to bringing this show to the fans of Houston. Bear with us and we’ll make it happen…
