New Zealand psychedelic rock Unknown Mortal Orchestra is back in town for their fourth album Sex & Food (Jagjaguwar). We caught the band in June 2013 and said, “Of course, this tour is for their second album, II, so we got those songs in spades, although they did sneak in some songs from their self-titled debut, like "How Can You Luv Me" and "Thought Ballune".”
Show up early to check out Scottish producer Makeness, who will be playing a few tracks from his debut album Loud Patterns (out now on Secretly Canadian).

THE SUFFERS
+ Krystal Metcalfe
7th Street Entry

Houston's award-winning 8-piece ensemble The Suffers will try and fit on stage at the 7th Street Entry once again. We caught the large band in June 2015 and said, “Make Some Room is not only the title of the recent EP from The Suffers (on Rhyme and Reason Records), but was also the edict as the band and venue’s personnel tried to clear enough stage space for all ten members. With percussionists and guitarists wedged in back, and the horn section, keys and bass up front, the band managed to make it work and make the audience work a little too, during their hour-long set.”
The Suffers’ forthcoming sophomore album Everything Here will be out July 13, 2018, via Shanachie Entertainment.
Chicago’s Krystal Metcalfe to open.
