The great Tori Amos is back at the The O'Shaughnessy this Tuesday. The appearance is part of her highly anticipated new album, Native Invader, available on Decca Records. The record was inspired after taking a trip through North Carolina’s Smoky Mountains and reconnecting with the stories and songs of her mother’s family.
We caught Amos in 2014 and wrote, “As for the concert, Tori's Unrepentant Geraldines set are broken into three parts, with the middle section called Lizard Lounge, which includes nothing but cover songs. If you've ever heard Tori's covers, they are so different than the original that they really deserve to be their own songs. I've said it time and time again, but she definitely performs the best cover songs. Her original live songs are treated the same way, it's like Tori is covering herself, because often her well known songs starts off like something completely different.”
