Comedian Jerry Lewis (not to be confused with singer/pianist Jerry Lee Lewis) has died on Sunday (today, August 20th), after a brief illness, according to cnn.com. He was 91.

Lewis first came to fame as the unpredictable goofy “boy” in the comedy/music act with singer Dean Martin from 1946 to 1955. People often criticize Lewis for making fun of the mentally ill in his comedy routine, but he quieted their criticism when he started raising billions of dollars to help battle muscular dystrophy with his annual telethons.
