Deerhoof Setlist
Guerilla Toss Setlist

Recap so far:
On Thursday, August 11, Shopping was joined onstage at the Georgia Theatre by Vanessa Briscoe Hay of Pylon. The Athens legend sang one song with the London post-punk powerhouse. The band’s demeanor when their musical icon left the stage could best be described as one of happy and dazed disbelief; they seemed like they needed a pinch to remind them it wasn’t all just a beautiful dream.
Thursday evening’s festivities reached their peak when Deerhoof took the stage at the Georgia Theatre. Singer/bassist Satomi Matsuzaki didn’t just play music during this performance; she led a musical pep rally. She commanded this crowd to dance, wave their arms and Come See The Duck, and they happily did her bidding.
At one point the show (almost) stopped completely, as Greg Saunier’s drum kit had been creeping incrementally across the stage. Deerhoof stopped playing while the rug under his kit was re-taped. Saunier filled in with a hilarious impromptu monologue about technical difficulties vis-à-vis drum kits. Who knew such a seemingly boring subject could be so entertaining? Inside this drummer resides the heart of a true comedian. By the way, he never missed a beat.
August 12
Friday August 12 was all about the avant-garde. You’ve got to love a band that deadpans lyrics about a neon b**thole, and therefore you’ve got to love Bastards of Fate. Lead vocalist Doug Cheatwood swings a utility flashlight, or hoists it above his head, or attaches it to the waistband of his pants, depending on his mood.
