Africa, for God’s sake how many of these health workers and potential others do we scare away from this dangerous career.Do we know that in most cases nothing is done for the families of these health workers should they become infected and die.In some cases they are even labelled promiscuous by others as an explanation for their death.Do we have the moral right to criticize those that move to other countries in search of a better enabling and sane environment to practice. This is a clear case of a prophet not having any recognition and respect in his home land

I found Ken Kraft online a long time ago when computers first came around, I had found an album by his band Snail in a cutout section back in the early 80s and it was always one of my favorite albums ever, I got in touch with Ken after I entered his name in google and bought several cds from him. I also got to know Larry Hosford as Ken was on some of his recordings and bought cds from him also. I just learned of his death while reading this article, seemed like a very nice guy and I loved his music. R.I.P.

It doesn't matter if they're big or small, all the names have been added to the list. We predicted that 2017 will be worst in terms of musician deaths: http://weheartmusic.typepad.com/blog/2016/12/whm263-the-year-in-deaths-2016.html

My mistake: Neville Marriner died at the age of 92.

PCMorphy72

Since you listed Heinrich Schiff you should list Neville Marriner (English violinist, known as "one of the world's greatest conductors", died in his sleep on October 2nd at the age of 78), and I guess many other classical musicians.
Apart Heinrich Schiff I think you have not listed many other musicians from the classical music environment, which I guess should be very great although not so great as popular music, so you could decide to exclude them (perhaps for the moment, though personally I would leave who you have already listed).
Also, since you have listed many musicians from national folk music environment I would have these two entries:
[05 Sep 2016] Carlo D'Angiò (NCCP), 70?
[01 Oct 2016] Sandra Mantovani (Italian singer), 88?
