NEON INDIAN

Neon Indian is the brain child of Alan Palomo. A young man from Mexico who has lived as a Texan for most of his life. He came into the scene with the album Psychic Chasms. It hit the blogsphere around the same time as "contemporaries," Toro y Moi and Washed Out in 2009. Pitchfork invented the term chillwave to describe these artists lo-fi bedroom pop, and akin-ed it to the earlier works of Ariel Pink.
As a touring band, Neon Indian is usually comprised of 4 members including Alan. He comes to First Avenue on October 20th behind a handful of strong singles from his latest album VEGA INTL. Night School (available today, October 16th on Mom + Pop), which showcase how he has moved from lo-fi to polished and infectiously dancey synth pop. Grab your tickets and get ready for a fun night.

We previously caught The Lone Bellow at Turf Club in March 2015 and at Varsity Theater in January 2014. The group is returning back to the Varsity this Tuesday, October 20th, touring in support of Then Came The Morning.
Come out the show and check out why this group was nominated for Group of the Year at the Americana Awards 2015. If you are interested in a VIP experience and don't mind paying extra (about $100), according to the band, "We're throwing a special Happy Hour before the doors to the venue open. It's a time where we share stories, play an acoustic set, and invite local purveyor to come sample coffee, beers and sorts..."
Special guests Anderson East and Hugh Masterson to open. We previously caught Anderson East at the Chipotle Cultivate Music Festival in August 2015.
