Australian future soul band Hiatus Kaiyote is touring in support of Choose Your Weapon (Flying Buddha/Sony Music Masterworks)
Singer Mina Moore (aka Yasmina Moore-Foster) opened up the show.
The singer/songwriter from Minneapolis's music leaned on soul and R&B, which is perfect for this show.
We have previously mentioned she used to be in a band called Dear Data and sometimes DJ under the billing of YSHEYELLIN.
Hiatus Kaiyote headlined the show. The Melbourne group features singer/guitarist Nai Palm, bassist Paul Bender, keyboardist Simon Mavin, and drummer Perrin Moss. They've been together since 2010.
As part of their promotion for their second album, Choose Your Weapon, they've appeared at the Fine Line Music Cafe earlier in 12 May 2015, and now, just in time for "Rocktober" at the same venue.
Thanks to heavy promotion, this is the band's first album to chart in the US, reaching #127 on the Billboard 200.
Their music mixes rap and R&B, and a lot of artists have sampled Hiatus Kaiyote songs, such as Anderson .Paak's with "Molasses" in "Without You" on his album Malibu.
