The crowd seemed to dig it. I had honestly never heard of these guys before but there were definitely some fans in the crowd going crazy and jumping up and down to every song. That being said, it seemed like majority of that crowd was waiting patiently for the headliners of the night, Breaking Benjamin.
Breaking Benjamin is a hard rock band from Pennsylvania that has been around for years. Their first album Saturate came out in 2002 and took the radio waves by storm. Now, thirteen years later, these guys are still putting out music and tearing up the air waves. This tour was in support of their latest release Dark Before Dawn which came out on Hollywood Records in June of this year. That didn't stop them from playing all of the old songs that the crowd wanted to hear.
They were able to fit a couple of cover songs amongst the almost twenty song set list including a medley of "The Imperial March" (Star Wars), "Schism" (Tool), and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (Nirvana). That medley was made complete with the random storm trooper that graced the stage for a short time. They also covered "I Alone" by Live and "Who Wants to Live Forever" by Queen. Normally the crowd goes wild for cover songs, but I think last night the audience was much more about the original songs that Breaking Benjamin had to offer.
Breaking Benjamin play for well over an hour and seemed to quench the crowd's thirst for a good old fashioned rock show.
