The band is really new and with only one release, as expected, played the entire The Guest House EP. Making up the rest of their 35-minute set were three new songs, which I don't actually have titles for.
Other Lives made it clear that they were more than happy to be back in town, thanking fans for attending and showing support for the Oklahoma band.
Shortly after that exhausting stadium tour with Radiohead and the release of their EP Mind the Gap in October 2012, the band seemed to have disappeared altogether, resurfacing only recently with the announcement of their Rituals new 2015 album. With the album out now (on Star Wars day, May the 4th, no less), the band is currently touring the US to get word out on the new record.
With this new tour, the band had their own custom light setup, which actually looked pretty cool. It worked out well with their set, shining brightly during the high moments and dimming to darkness for the slow songs.
As singer Jesse Tabish noted, they were playing plenty of old songs, but also a bit of the new record Rituals, including "Reconfiguration", "Easy Way Out", "2 Pyramids", and "English Summer".
For the encore, Jesse Tabish and violinist Jonathon Mooney played solo on "Black Tables". The rest of the band joined them for the two final songs "Great Sky" and "Dust Bowl III".
Other Lives' Rituals is out now via TBD Records.
