Wakefield's The Cribs (consisting of twins Gary and Ryan Jarman and their younger brother Ross Jarman) are big Smiths fan... so much that they recruited Johnny Marr in their group in 2008... however, when we saw them live at the Varsity Theater and at the 7th Street Entry, Marr was nowhere to be seen! We knew something was up... but it wasn't until 2011 did they make Marr's departure official.
The Cribs are back with a new album For All My Sisters set for released in North America on Arts & Crafts on March 24th.... The Cribs' first shows in the US since 2012 will kick off with an intimate three-show residency in New York City. The Cribs will continue on to Austin for SXSW and then to the West Coast through San Francisco, Los Angeles, and more along with their long awaited return to Coachella.

London's Evans The Death (featuring brothers Dan Moss on guitar and Olly Moss on bass) are back with their sophomore album Expect Delays coming in March 2015 via Fortuna POP! (Europe) and Slumberland Records (USA).
I originally took noticed of this band right away because they were described as "Brit-Pop" ... but the band was (and is) very young, still only barely out of their teenage years. Maybe the band outgrew their Britpop influence with the latest album, we'll see.
This is how they described their new record:
(excerpt)
More ambitious and focused than their previous record, whilst sacrificing none of their spontaneity and vitality, Expect Delays is a supremely inventive and intelligently crafted album from a band who have suffered for their art, and used that experience to inform and nourish their work. Expect no more delays, Evans the Death have arrived.

Not sure if I like the name The Sherlocks as it reminds me so much of Sherlock Holmes and how I dislike that BBC show (sorry, it's team Elementary all the way).
This Sheffield four-piece band is said to be sound much like Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, Kasabian, etc., and features brothers Josh (guitar) and Andy (bass) Davidson with another set of brothers Kiaran (vocals/guitar) and Brandon (drums) Crook. Their love of football (soccer) and music were all they needed when they formed in 2010.
The Sherlocks will be heading out on tour this week, in celebration of their new single "Escapade", which came out on Monday, February 16th.
