There are a couple of things worth noting if you're a television junkie. First of all Walking Dead (not to be confused with Z Nation) is returning Sunday, February 8th, from its winter break. I'm not a fan of the winter break, as it feels like we wait so long for the season to conclude. I've lost interest in shows like American Horror Story, as they took such a long break, I'd forgotten about what happened earlier... And just a reminder, the last time Walking Dead aired, it was in late November 2014, and someone from the core group died. I'm looking forward to seeing how the group continues, as I think they gained a new addition to the team, the kid from "The Hospital".
The other big news is that one of my favorite Amazon pilot last year was Bosch (not to be confused with the power equipment) will be airing exclusively on Amazon Prime next week, February 13th. Bosch was one of a few shows that got picked up for a full season (notably the X-Files' Chris Carter The After show was not picked up). I'm sure it is in Amazon's best interest to pick up Bosh, as it is based on the detective book series ... and probably a lot cheaper to producer than a special effects-heavy Sci-Fi show.
I don't have Amazon Prime, but I'll keep an eye on it, if they should make the series available on DVD/Bluray... and if the price is reasonable, I'll likely pick it up.
If the show is something you might be interested in, the pilot episode is actually free, go download it at Amazon. If you've read the book, the pilot is a combination of two books: Concrete Blonde and City of Bones.
Even if you've seen the pilot in February 2014, you might want to revisit it... as they've re-edited the pilot (as of January 14, 2015) to keep it in line with the rest of the upcoming series.

| Based on the DC Comics' Green Arrow, Arrow is probably one of the first really successful CW Television show. As much as I like seeing some characters like Deathstroke on screen, the show suffers from that CW-syndrome of over dramatization and unnecessary love interests.... Currently the show is going strong, well into its third season. | VS

Yeah, I know this has nothing to do with Arrow, but the name Archer conjures up images of a man with a bow and arrow. This American adult animated television series created by Adam Reed for the FX network... so the animation nature of it makes me think of comic books. This show has been a hit for FX and is still currently airing on the network. |
| I've said it before, but initially I was turned off by the whole Asian woman as Watson ... but after enjoying the first season, I look forward to watching every episode of Elementary. If they had just called this show something else instead of Sherlock Holmes, I think more people would have embraced it. Anyway, one of my favorite shows right now... but I've yet to purchase it on disc because oddly enough, the show is only available on DVD (I'm waiting for it to come out on Bluray). | VS

Between the two Sherlock Holmes show, I'm not a fan of the British Sherlock series. I know that's not the popular consensus, but I find that this show is just too "British" and there are not enough episodes. For example, I think there's only like three episodes per season... which is like nothing compared to the quality of 13 or more episodes of Elementary. Since the show is on BBC, I don't have access to it in America... so I don't really follow this British show (is it even still on air?) |
| Chicago P.D. started last year under the guidance of Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead as a spin-off from Chicago Fire.... which will explain the confusion I have with the police department. I'm not a fan of Chicago Fire, so I'm not really sure why I gave Chicago PD a chance... but I've been watching it semi-regularly. | VS

I honestly don't know how they can make a series about firefighters exciting, so I've never been a fan of Chicago Fire. The show has a strong following, strong enough that they developed the spinoff show Chicago PD... but the two shows are somewhat different. |
| I think the first Season of Homeland was amazing... but it did not need to continue. Of course, thanks to high ratings, they came back and the second and third season sucked. However, even after they killed a vital character in the Homeland series, I think the show now is better than ever with Season 4. Can't wait for season 5. | VS

I have never seen this show, but Graceland is about a house shared by various law enforcement agencies (DEA, FBI, ICE, etc). The house is called "Graceland" and reading reviews, it's basically a police drama. I don't know why I've never seen the show, I might try and catch a future episode. |
| I hate Broadchurch. I tried to get into the series with the pilot, but it is a typical British writing and acting... which meant that the show is very slow and boring. The show revolves around the death of an 11-year-old boy... is it murder or suicide? Who cares. I don't know why people love this series. | VS

Gracepoint is the American remake of BBC's Broadchurch. Instead of making it more interesting or exciting, the producers decided to make it a shot-for-shot remake of the British drama. I'm sorry, what is the 'point' of this? Why not just watch the original series then? Not recommended. Even Fox agreed, there will not be a season 2 of this pointless series. |

Canada's Strange Empire is basically a Western drama, lead by a team women survivalists after all the men in their town were murdered. I did check out the pilot and tried to keep up with this series... but I eventually gave up on the series because of the boring story. |

This new comedy/drama TV show Jane the Virgin is based on the telenovela Juana la Virgen created by Perla Farías. The show is doing well, they've announced a second season - and the actress Gina Rodriguez recently just won a Golden Globe Award. |
| NBC's Crossbones is about the pirate Edward "Blackbeard" Teach, based on the book The republic of Pirates by Colin Woodard. I tried to watch the show, based on the strength that it starred John Malkovich... but just forgotten about the show. NBC cancelled and didn't even air the final two episodes. | VS

Between the two pirate shows, I guess I would side with Black Sails, thanks to its nudity and violence. Since the show is on Starz, they are not bound by the restrictions of a national network like NBC. However, to be fair, both pirate shows are just not good. I haven't watched either show for a long time now. |
| This Vampire show True Blood ended last year. I actually started following the series because my sister bought the DVD and I've been hooked since then. However, like many shows (see BSG and Lost), the ending of this show is not good. | VS

CBS's Blue Bloods is an American police procedural drama series, nothing to do with vampires (or royality). I have never seen a show, but the show is popular enough that CBS renewed it for a fifth season. |
