Non-jazz Brisbane five-piece Young Lions (not to be confused with 60s jazz band The Young Lions or the Nebraska's jazz orchestra Young Lions) will be releasing their sophomore album Blue Isla this January 27, 2015, the follow-up to their debut album Burn.
Bassist Morgan Castle talked about their two albums, “’Burn’ was a record full of anger. ‘Blue Isla’ is a huge step up for us. The record is one of beauty and maturity. Everything you’ve come to love about Young Lions - Passion. Truth. Relevancy. It’s in this record. We’ve matured a lot and so has our music”.
Look for the band to do a headline tour in support of their new fully crowd funded album.

Memphis' Tiger High is a rock group consisting of Jake Vest (Jack Oblivian, The Trashed Romeos, Echo Friendly), drummer Greg Roberson (Reigning Sound, Arthur Lee’s Love, The Trashed Romeos, Jack Oblivian, Compulsive Gamblers), Toby Vest (Shadow Brother, The Trashed Romeos), and Leo Ramos.
Their new album is called Inside the Acid Coven, and it came out last November on Trashy Creatures Records.
Not a lot of details about the band... except that they are great live. As My Old Kentucky Blog described:
