04/13/2019: Thanks to several fans who reported that Morrissey officially cancelled some Canadian dates. Rob sent in: "Due to a medical emergency stemming from an accident incurred while traveling in Europe, Morrissey will be forced to postpone his performances in Vancouver to October 14th and 15th, 2019. Spirits are high and the artist is on the path to a swift recovery. All tickets will be valid for the new date and exchanges will not be necessary. Thank you for your understanding. Morrissey looks forward to making his long-awaited return to the city and wishes to deeply thank everyone for their patience. All remaining dates on Morrissey’s tour will resume as planned, commencing in Toronto on Friday Apr 26."

NOTE: Morrissey's show at the Copley Symphony Hall in San Diego, CA (10 Nov 2018) ended slightly early due to multiple stage invaders. This does not count against Morrissey as a partial show, because it was during the second encore.

After police pulled a gun on Morrissey, his nephew said that Morrissey decided to cancel seven proposed Italian dates - including the announced Macerata Opera Festival. Read all about it on rollingstone.com. Incidentally, Italian police disagreed. Since the other six dates were never announced, we can't add the dates and locations to the 2017 listing.
- 10 Apr 2017 Tucson, AZ - Fox Tucson Theatre (walked off after six songs due to vocal issues)

- 07 Dec 2017 Boston, MA - Orpheum Theatre (cancelled, announced 12/06 at 5pm)
- 10 Dec 2017 KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas 2017 (It's suggested by KROQ staff that they knew about the cancellation since Thursday, they officially announced the cancellation on Saturday at 8pm. To be fair, KROQ was hoping that conditions would improve, but it did not. The Killers will now headline, with Sad Girl added to the lineup.)
- 16 Dec 2017 CBS This Morning - Saturday Sessions (Although there is a 25% chance that Morrissey will cancel his Saturday Sessions, I don't think he will. The show is pre-recorded and only requires one or two songs. Based on Anthony Mason's Morrissey confirmation and Morrissey's recent feisty Der Spiegel comment, it sounded like he's feeling much better. But who knows. We'll find out this Saturday. Update 12/14/2017: It's possible that Morrissey will not appear live at all, but that CBS will use pre-recorded live concert footage. Update 12/17/2017: Confirmed, Morrissey did not show up. Instead, CBS used footage from Morrissey's appearance at The Anthem in Washington DC from Nov 30, before he fell ill.)

Some details on nbcnews.com, but the official cancellation statement reads: "The remaining dates of the Morrissey U.S. North American tour have officially been pulled down due to medical reasons. The singer has suffered a series of medical mishaps over the past few months including a bleeding ulcer, Barrett’s esophagus and double pneumonia.
Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour. Morrissey thanks all of his fans for their well wishes and thoughts. Refunds for the remaining shows are available at point of purchase."

Morrissey's mother was hospitalized. Can't really blame Morrissey's humanity for suddenly stopping his tour to fly back to England to see his mother in the hospital. Originally it was only going to be a few days before he resume his tour... but unfortunately the remainder of the 2012 dates were all postponed until 2013. Those 2013 announced were also cancelled due to "a series of medical mishaps", but you can read all about that in the 2013 entries. - 23 Oct 2012 Pittsburgh, PA - Heinz Hall

Nokia Isle of Wight Music Festival - Newport, England
From nme.com: A statement reads: “Morrissey will regrettably not be appearing at the Isle Of Wight Festival on the 11th of June as scheduled. The pressure of preparing the new album and losing his drummer earlier this month has made it impossible to do the gig without massively compromising both the gig and the album. From Passions Just Like Mine:
Postponed and never rescheduled.
Morrissey may have been referring to this concert when he told the Pittsbugh Post-Gazette in 2013: "I arrived for the soundcheck and I was told that the night had to be 'pulled' because the stage wasn't safe. There were a lot of people queuing in the rain, and backstage was abysmal -- I don't think there was even a toilet. When you're faced with such situations you feel so much anger with local promoters because they charge such high ticket prices yet they have no concern for either the comfort of the artist or the safety of the audience ... they think the night will just roll along on enthusiasm, which is wrong."

This was the first solo Morrissey tour since his eighty-hate date. According to Passions Just Like Mine, there were an additional 11 shows cancelled at the end of the second leg of the North American tour, due to exhaustion. "Dates scheduled in Worcester, Albany, New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Williamsburg, Chapel Hill, Birmingham, New Orleans, Lakeland and Miami at the tail end of the tour were cancelled. After over 6 months of touring everywhere and doing television, radio and magazine interviews almost constantly, exhaustion must have had the better of Morrissey. It was time to kill "Kill Uncle" and move on to the next album."

I noticed the Pauley Pavilion show at UCLA is not on your list. That was Nov 1st, 1991, an indoor arena concert. At some point in the show Moz made a statement that resulted in people rushing the stage. Many people were injured over the course of the next few songs. They had to stop the show. I was sitting in a mid-level seat and did not leave my area to go closer to the stage. We waited at our seats for about an hour, unaware of what was happening, hoping the show would continue, there were rumors of injuries.
Then they announced that the show was over and to leave. Once outside and near the corner of one side of the building, not too far away from a merch booth I started to see the merch booth shake and it became apparent with all the yelling that some people were pissed and either going to destroy the booth and/or steal. I recall that within a few seconds of that starting that a bunch of officers in riot gear came out of the building, like out of nowhere, a panel just opened up and they poured out. I observed aggression on their part, we were about 15-20 feet away so were lucky not to get cracked. I recall thinking that that's why we were made to wait an hour... it was so they could assemble riot police. We continued on our way to our cars.
At 17 min 34 sec of the following youtube vid you hear what Moz said to the crowd that started the whole mess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn_45kUTZRY

I don't recall an offer of reimbursement on the table. We were cheated. Concert not rescheduled. Sucked that people were injured. Should definitely be on your list.

What a ridiculous list. However, if you're going to do something, it ought to get it right, so what about the Isle of Wight Festival in 2005? http://www.nme.com/news/music/festivals-250-1353578

This list is an amazing resource. I have been a Morrissey fan since the Smiths came on the scene (fortunate enough to see them live five times). Thank you for your dedication. Happy Christmas.

Thank you - I have just added the date to the listing with additional information: Postponed and never rescheduled.

2011/07/14, Helsinborg, Sweden was cancelled and is missing from your list. I know, I was there...

Thank you, I have added the date to the list with this note: Cancelled due to rain... even though "the promoter wanted it to go ahead as gigs in the rain have been played on the same stage without any major problems"

I had a ticket to the show in Albany, NY that was cancelled in 1991--it was to have taken place at the Palace Theater.

I was at the Boston 2007 show--he walked off stage after 6 or 7 songs but it was not a full cancellation. He came back a few months later and played the same venue and my ticket was honored.
