Opener Marques Toliver had canceled his appearance last minute due to illness, so Faith's live show started slightly earlier than originally scheduled. However, surprisingly, the audience showed up quite early and quickly filled up the main floor. I got to talk to some of them coming through the door, and they all expressed how lucky we are to get Paloma Faith in this intimate environment. One guy was amazed that he could get a ticket at the door, and was more than happy to hand over the cash.

She then commented on what is selling in America, "I'm sorry, but your top ten sucks!" She's referring to all the "big bum" songs in the charts. Still, she has 'faith' in the market and said, "You know Morrissey, right? Morrissey said never underestimate your audience."
My favorite Faith story is about how the song "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" came about. About a year and a half ago, she was talking to her manager and he said a lady wrote a song for her. Faith didn't want to sing other people's songs, then she heard that it was written by Diane Warren. When she finally got around to googling her name, she discovered that Warren had written hits for all the great artists, from Cher to Toni Braxton to Céline Dion.
Although impressed, she still did not want to do the song, mostly because songs by other people didn't suit her. Faith decided to meet Warren face to face for lunch and let her down gently. Apparently, "every third word [out of Warren] was c***." After turning her down, Warren pretty much called Faith an a*****.
You would think that would be the end of that, but Warren called Faith on the phone on Boxing Day (the day after Christmas) and played the song over the phone. The song was perfect, and Faith finally agreed to record it.
When "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" hit #1 in the Australian chart, she received a gift from Warren - a gold bracelet with an inscription that reads, "#1 C****."

We got word from one of her musician was that A Perfect Contradiction will be released in America by Sony Music soon, and will include some bonus tracks (possibly the same version as the forthcoming A Perfect Contradiction: Outsiders' Edition version in the UK). Hopefully the album will do well in the States and will help bring Paloma Faith back to Minneapolis!

I wish American radio stations would play Paloma Faith's music. She is much better than the majority of the American singers. Paloma Faith has true vocal talent. The majority of singers need auto tune, can't sing live very well. Paloma Faith can really deliver live!
Get busy and buy her albums! She is a true talent, and she really is good to her fans. She takes time to always thank her fans, unlike most famous people. She is under rated and I do not know why. She is very intelligent. She mentioned that because of her accent people think she is not very smart. I have the same problem because I speak slow and have a southern accent. People need to quit being so judgmental.
Got to get her to America!!!!!!
