Pink Floyd is one of the most influential (and not to mention commercially successful) band in popular music.
By now I'm sure you've all heard that the British band had confirmed a brand new album called
The Endless River, due out in October 2014. This will be their first album since 1994's
The Division Bell*.
Additional details, as confirmed on their website:
Pink Floyd can confirm that they are releasing a new album, The Endless River, in October 2014. It is an album of mainly ambient and instrumental music based on the 1993/4 Division Bell sessions which feature David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album is produced by David Gilmour with Phil Manzanera, Youth and recording engineer Andy Jackson. Work is still in progress, but more details to come at the end of the summer.

The Division Bell's 20th Anniversary was recently re-issued last month as a deluxe edition, featuring the record in double LP vinyl, the CD (in a new sleeve), Blu-Ray 5.1 audio mix, music videos, High Hopes clear 7" vinyl, High Hopes blue vinyl etched 12", Take It Back red vinyl, four 12x12 Art Print, and booklet. And yes, it's expensive. Definitely meant for the diehard collectors.
