You might recall that we covered the rough cut of Stuart Murdoch's God Help The Girl musical film screening in January 2013. Jennifer summed up the film as simply, "Visually it was Stuart’s story of the forming of Belle and Sebastian."

Needless to say, we've been following the God Help The Girl journey for quite a while now. It started in 2009, after Belle & Sebastian took a break, Murdoch went on to form God Help the Girl. I eventually bought three physical CDs in Toronto, and it became my favorite album of that year.

God Help The Girl: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

So, I'm excited to tell you that Milan Records will be releasing the God Help The Girl: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack this September 2nd, just in time the films' theatrical release and On Demand on September 5th from Aplify (although the film will be made available in the UK August 16th via Metrodome with soundtrack on August 18th). Very excited to hear the new songs, and very excited to see the finished film.

Minneapolis, please note that they are screening God Help the Girl at McNally Smith College of Music on September 4th at 7pm.
