Reportedly influenced by Joy Division, New Order, The Stone Roses and the like, but this doesn't clearly come across in their songs.... which is not all bad. Who likes a copycat anyway?
The Trotskies brand of indie will not get you singing along on a long car trip (which is my personal favourite location for getting re-acquainted with anything Stone Roses related). The laid back tempo and the borderline moody guitar sings will most definitely inspire you to grab a cold beverage and have a nice sit down, close your eyes and just take it all in. I can envisage these guys would come across very well in a live setting.
I recommend keeping your eye out for this EP as well as any news of live shows in your general vicinity. But in the meantime, if you'd like to find out more head over to their Triple J Unearthed page where you can sample some of their music.
