The Besnard Lakes are from Montreal, playing "space rock" with live theatrics of smokes and lights. Guitarist Jace Lasek sings in falsetto, along with bassist Olga Goreas who counters with a deep croon. The Canadian band is currently on tour in support of their latest album Until In Excess, Imperceptible UFO, out now on Jagjaguwar.
We last saw Elephant Stone opening up for Black Angels on April 20th, and John noted that the band played "tranced Indian-tinged" music, but also weaving in 60s era Beatles and the Kinks!
Elephant Stone's self-titled album is available now on Hidden Pony. Check out both bands on tour now.
Special thanks to Stefanie, who provided all the photographs.
