Earlier this October, Local Natives were out on tour in support of their sophomore album
Hummingbird.
If you love what you heard, you'd be happy to know that they've just released a new iTunes Session on November 5th. The 11-track live performance, featured acoustic re-working of their hits, "Heavy Feet", "Breakers", "Out Getting Ribs" (King Krule cover), as well as other
Hummingbird tracks. The Session was recorded at Capitol Studios and available with a full video of them playing "Ceilings", all 11 tracks and 1 video for only $6.99 on iTunes.
The Los Angeles 5-piece (Taylor Rice - vocals/guitars, Kelcey Ayer - keys/percussion, Ryan Hahn - guitars, Matt Frazier - drums, and newest band member Nik Ewing - bass) is currently wrapping up their European tour:
11/16/13 Madrid, Spain @ Joy Eslava
11/17/13 Lisbom, Portugal @ TMN AO VIVO
11/19/13 Bordeaux, France @ Theatre Barbey
11/20/13 Paris, France @ Le Bataclan
If you live in Spain, Portugal, or France, read what Joseph filed from the Local Natives in New Orleans show (10/02/13) to get an idea of what to expect:
The Local Natives came to Tipitina's in New Orleans and blew the heaving crowd's collective mind. The sound was perfect, the performance was captivating and the set list that bounced back and forth between the band's two albums (Gorilla Manor and Hummingbird) excellently stirred the audience into a fervor. Taylor Rice's vocals were spot on and the band melded into a single force of nature that pushed the set forward with nary a misstep or second of dead air. Varying between soaring sing-a-longs and somber meditations Local Natives masterfully manipulated the crowd's emotions. By the time the band closed with the upbeat hit "Sun Hands" the sweat soaked crowd seemed beat, but still a rowdy applause and demand for more brought the band back on stage for a rousing encore. This is definitely a band on the rise and they proved more than capable of getting an audience fully committed to their performance and keeping them entranced. I for one will be keeping a close eye and ear on these guys.
