Read More Hands Hands, which hails from LA, wasn't too much of a disappointment if you listened to their most recent release, Synesthesia. The album is catchy and they do sound a bit reminiscent of Ned's Atomic Dustbin .…

Brand-spanking new indie band Hands will be playing in their hometown of Los Angeles next Wednesday, along with the Chicago-based trio On An On. Originally from Philly, Hands has been gaining massive recognition at festivals around the country, including SXSW and Echo Park Rising. Their uplifting alternative sound and Geoff Halliday’s smooth vocals are sure to bring down the house.
They are currently on a west coast tour and have been gaining massive attention from all across the media board, including ABC’s list of ‘7 Emerging Artists on the Rise’ and Time Magazine’s ’11 Bands You Don’t Know (but should)’. Their track ‘Warm Night Home’ from their EP Massive Context has been on repeat in my iTunes all week, and I’m also stoked to see On An On after covering two of their shows in Brighton at The Great Escape Festival. Go grab Hands’ latest album Synesthesia here on Bandcamp and stay tuned for their show review at The Satellite on September 11th.

The Grisly Hand is from Kansas City, Missouri, and their music reflect their home: alt-country and outlaw country sound. The band's debut album Country Singles came out earlier this year (March 1, 2013) and features a beauty and beast vocals of singers Jimmy Fitzner (the ragged) and Lauren Krum (the sweet).
Krum explain their independent record, "We take a lot of pride in the fact that we produced this record on our own. We paid all the recording costs and subsequent promotion from money earned by the band, and did not rely on record labels, crowdsourcing, friends and family, etc."
The band is doing some live shows:
09/29/13 The Brick, Kansas City
10/11/13 The Record Bar, Kansas City
11/23/13 The Record Bar, Kansas City
