Indie rockers The Veils played a show at the 7th St. Entry last night (5/1). The New Zealand-based band played a powerful, emotionally charged set from beginning to end, and the lead vocalist Finn Andrews seemed to be putting all he had into his performance. Switching between electric and acoustic guitars throughout the whole show, the band frequently described as "underestimated" proved their skills with the variety of sound.
The set was mixed with some old songs and their recently released 4th album Time Stays, We Go (Pitch Beast Records). The band had some technical difficulties throughout the show, but they maintained their composure like true professionals throughout it all. They even made light of it by joking with the audience and connecting with some diehard fans in the front. Overall, the success of the show could be determined by the crowd unanimously cheering for an encore, which The Veils certainly delivered on.
