Brisbane's own Velociraptor hit the stage of Concord 2 on Saturday afternoon and man did they hit it hard. This 12 piece garage-punk band may be from Australia, but they embody all the finesse of British punk rock anarchy. Monstrous guitar sounds, bass and hard hitting drums make up a menagerie of musical chaos, but these guys make it work... really well.
Their hit 'Hey Suzanne' was an immediate crowd pleaser and the energy of the room was through the roof. Lead singer Jeremy (who also does 60's inspired acoustic sets) is a riot and mesmerizes the audience with his crazy antics. Kinda makes you wanna jump out of your skin and join all these rowdy Aussies. Not that the stage could possibly handle any more bodies with all their entertaining recklessness.
