Last night’s at the Fine Line Music Cafe featured Daughter, and Jeremy Messersmith opened the show.
The London-based trio of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli, and Remi Aguilella started out in 2010 with their self-released EP, Demos, and word of the band’s unique sound and their powerful, vulnerable lyrics soon spread. This past March they released their debut album If You Leave (4AD) to great reviews. The timid lead vocalist Elena talked quietly with fans in the front as she finalized the setup on stage. The sold out show consisted of 13 songs; some off their previous EP’s, but mostly focused on their debut album If You Leave. Throughout the show, fans were singing along to the lyrics as the majority of the crowd seemed to know the words. One of the songs that seemed to have the best response with the crowd was "Landfill" off the 2011 His Young Heart EP. If you have the opportunity to see one of the upcoming tour dates:
