My absolute favorite is, I believe is called "The Rebound" which is a hidden/bonus track off Cedar + Gold. It's about meeting a guy at Trader Joe's and falling for his bananas. ..…

Bands like Guster have sang ‘you’re my satellite’ and Counting Crows mention ‘Recovering the Satellites’, but the Nashville-based band Satellite draws on its own inspirations, for a sound all their own.
Consisting of Steven McMorran (vocals/guitar), Mitch Allan (guitar), Josh Dunahoo (guitar), and Erik Kertes (bass), Satellite was formed in 2010 around McMorran’s songs of Americana-based folk/pop/rock and lyrical sincerity.
Their newest effort, Calling Birds (Descendant Records/Sony Music Entertainment) garners influence from the likes of Paul Simon, Snow Patrol, and Bruce Springsteen; the title referring to “the one sound in the night that reminds you the sun’s coming up”.
Touring currently with Tristan Prettyman, Satellite is worth making sure you get to the venue early, to catch them live.

I actually really wanted to see Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds last night (April 10th), but it was just not meant to be. Due to bad blizzard conditions in Colorado and Minnesota, Sister Sparrow canceled their appearance at the 7th Street Entry. I think when they come back, I'll definitely have to make another effort to see them.
So, if you didn't know, Sister Sparrow - also known in real life as Arleigh Kincheloe is a, get this, an eight-piece funk/soul band from New York. I could not imagine the tiny 7th Street stage to hold more than five people at once. I think I was more interested in seeing how they'd all fit on stage.
The band is currently on tour for their latest album, Pound of Dirt, out now on Modern Vintage.

Sierra Swan just recently announced that her upcoming album will be produced by Smashing Pumpkins' Billy Corgan.
Corgan explained why he chose this project, "This is the first time I've produced someone in over a decade. Sierra's new songs are the best batch of material I've heard from any songwriter in forever."
It's been four years since the release of Sierra Swan's Girl Who Cried Wolf, so she's really excited to get back to working on the new record, "The role of a producer is so important and as an artist you want it to happen organically so when Billy reacted so positively to the songs I had written, I realized, it's time and this is the person. Luckily, he felt the same way. We have a wonderful connection in the confines of our friendship, through life, love, art, truth and of course, music. I trust his instincts and I know he trusts mine. There is a ton of respect forever present in our dynamic which keeps everything super real and honest."
The new record will be made possible by if they reach their goal via Pledge Music. They are currently at around 50% of their projected goal.
