New Orleans has a place called heaven in the land of Generationals. The Louisiana natives are working with former drummer of the band Spoon "Jim Eno" on the recording stages of their upcoming April release Heza, which is now available for pre-order via Polyvinyl Records.
I got a chance to preview some of their tracks last fall at Tiptina's in NOLA and was blown away and was body shaking like Ian Curtis all night. Generationals are one of the few bands these days that keeps a clean cut original sound and continues to improve every time i see them. I think it's safe to see this band will never sell out or start making songs bubble gum pop music.
Those of you out of the loop, be sure to listen to all their material albums including their 2011 release "Actor Caster" easily a top 10 album that year!
Stream their new single "Put a Light On" here.
Generationals will have a band called Splashh as support for a few gigs and will be opening for their Baton Rouge Gig on April 11th.
SPLASHH

New British rockers are setting sail on their first U.S. tour and SXSW appearance this spring. Don't be surprised if this group wins best new band from NME next year.
Splashh has the Oasis/Ash meets garage rock new wave sound. Young fans will go nuts when they see UK lads. Splashh doesn't even have a EP released yet? But will burst on the scene very quickly and I'm sure will have plans for a release, after singles "Vacation", "Need It", and "All I Wanna Do", have spread all over the internet airwaves.
I think a new rivalry will start real soon between Splashh and Palma Violets. Maybe not as big as BLUR and OASIS but pretty big?
Can't wait to see these guys in Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Surprised no hometown show in New Orleans?!
