Read More The Thermals Sub Pop is re-issuing six classic The Thermals albums on vinyl (if you're hip to the music scene, you know that vinyl sale is up five million percent since its so-called death by the hands of compact discs) as part of the 10th …

Eleven years in, The Thermals are still delivering the kind of heavenly and anthemic pop punch reminiscent of Ted Leo and Say Anything; the often dark lyrical content of the songs working favorably with lead singer Hutch Harris’ over-the-top vocals. On April 14th, they will release their sixth full length record Desperate Ground. After label hopping from Sub Pop to Kill Rock Stars with past albums, the band has settled in with Saddle Creek.
The Thermals’ music videos are always entertaining, especially “I Don’t Believe You†from the last album Personal Life that features former Sleater-Kinney/current Wild Flag member Carrie Brownstein and Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock. Recently, the band released a video for their new single “Born to Kill,†a gleefully violent portrayal of revenge; it’s a brutal minute and a half, so be prepared. But nothing beats the sweaty, joyful pleasure of a live gig - so do yourself a favor and give yourself to the Thermals!
