The Black Angels just released an emotion "Don't Play With Guns" on their official website, in response to the mass school shooting.
Singer Alex Maas issued this statement with the song, "Our music has always tried to shed light on issues that may be hard to deal with or confront. If people think they can ignore the issues, they are wrong. Don't play with guns, don't touch a hot stove, don't give your child a poisonous snake, don't turn the cheek when artists are willing to discuss these issues."
Look for their fourth LP, Indigo Meadow, this April 2013… right about the time they head out on tour:

TTNG
thistownneedsguns.com You got to feel bad about a band when they have to issue a press release to change their name (remember when Anthrax had to come out to stand against terrorists and the usage of anthrax?). In light of the recent tragic school shootings, This Town Needs Guns officially changed their name to TTNG .... which I can't help but think Star Trek: The Next Generation when I see the initials. The trio's sophomore album, 13.0.0.0.0., just dropped on LP/CD/Digital today (January 22nd) on Sargent House. |
SOLE
soleone.org I previously mentioned the difficult to google Sole before. In response to the hot topic of guns, he's released "Gun Control" on Soundcloud. Excerpt: Simply said, we have lost all sense of community and emotional support, this in itself is one thing, but combined with the sheer amount of stress that people are under in this new economy it should come as no surprise that alienated people on the fringes with no support lash out like this… |
