I didn't know much about Jeffertitti's Nile, but they said they played "psychedelic doo-wop", which sounds it should be 'doo-wah wah' because of their guitar effects. Because it was Halloween, the singer seems to be dressed as some sort of naked caveman surfer with sunglasses?
FATHER JOHN MISTY

Since he had a full band, leaving Tillman as a dedicated singer, he developed hip-swinging dancing style, especially on "Only Son of the Ladiesman." He really got into the groove and his current persona seems more about Hollywood sexiness and charm… rather than introverted bearded man with a poet's heart as J Tillman.
I was there for my beloved La Sera. I wasn't exactly sure what costume Katy Goodman was going for. Homeless musician? She even had a sign that read "change for beer." Her hair was held up and is now black, instead of the normal "bangin'" redhead.
Her two guitarists were dressed as Morrissey and Johnny Marr. "Morrissey" was in a Shoplifters (Elvis) T-Shirt and did terrible Morrissey impressions.
What's even funnier is the band did the Elvis song "(Marie's the Name) His Latest Flame" medley with their song, "Never Come Around." When I asked "Marr" why they did that cover but in the Smiths style, he said it was because the band's been obsessed with the Smiths' Rank live album (they've been listening to it in their van when they drive from city to city.)
The did a good mix of new materials from Sees the Light (including "Break My Heart" and "Please Be My Third Eye") and their self-titled debut (including "You're Going To Cry" and "Never Come Around.")
They ended their set with a brand new song called "Control." Sounded great, I am excited to hear it again the next time La Sera 'comes around.'*
La Sera is currently on tour in support of Sees the Light.
Fun fact: Har Mar Superstar was in the audience for this show. I was told that he played the night before but because of Hurricane Sandy, he was stranded in Minneapolis.
UPDATE 11/1/12: You can see pictures of "Morrissey" and "Marr" over at morrissey-solo.com. Also, Katy Goodman was a "gutter punk" for Halloween. That would explain the anarchy A in the "spare change" sign.

* Please don't tour in the winter because I go into hibernation.
I'm looking forward to see Father John Misty at some point in November. One of the few gigs I'll have been to this year. Only one festival this year too (and it wasn't the Green Man). Sad times. Don't even get me started on my knee pain.
