I've previously mentioned that Prince Rama were two real-life sisters, Taraka and Nimai Larson. The big news for this Brooklyn-based band is that they just released their album, Top Ten Hits of the End of the World, earlier this month via Paw Tracks.
I love the cover artwork, it looks like it escaped from a cheesy 80s TV greatest hits album.
The duo is currently on tour in Europe in support of the album.

PRINCE RUPERT'S DROPS
facebook.com I think we just missed Prince Rupert's Drops' CD-release party, which, if you didn't know, was for their album, Run Slow, released November 13th via Beyond Beyond is Beyond. Calling it a CD-release party is a bit of a misnomer, sorry, the album only comes out on vinyl, digital, or the cassette. Listen to "Almond Man" on Soundcloud: |
LE PETIT PRINCE
troygua.com Troy Gua's Le Petit Prince dolls got a cease and desist letter from the Purple One's lawyers. While I disagree with Prince's war on the internet, I might have to side with Prince on this one because the perception is that Gua was making money off of Prince's brand. What I don't get is why isn't Prince offering a license or produce his own doll? It's obvious to me that fans want to own these dolls. Anyway, Le Petit Prince's website list there is only one doll and he's "NOT FOR SALE." |
