Björk's bastards, an all re-mixed album of Biophilia, is coming out this week, November 19th on One Little Indian. I do not believe this release is meant for North America, so you may have to import it if you're a hardcore Björk fan.
For this bastards project, Björk specifically requested certain artists and producers to remix her songs. Artists includes Current Value, Death Grips, Hudson Mohawke, Alva Noto, Matthew Herbert, Omar Souleyman, 16-bit, These New Puritans, and The Slips.
Björk commented on the album, "I felt it important to gather together the essence of the remixes, so I picked a quarter of them for one CD for people who are perhaps not too sassy downloaders or don't have the time or energy to partake in the hunter-gathering rituals of the internet. I was incredibly impressed by how the core of the mixes took Biophilia somewhere else while still keeping its character, and like they so often do when at their best: the remixes gave the songs more beats; legs to dance on! I spent some time editing together not necessarily the best ones but the ones that made the strongest whole."
Both the Biophilia and bastards will be available on 12" vinyl as well as CD and digital download.
In brief Björk-remix news:
Matthew Herbert's remix of "Mutual Core" can be heard on Soundcloud.
"Mutual Core" video will be premiering tomorrow (November 13th) on The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles' YouTube Channel.

Ólöf Arnalds, cousin to Ólafur Arnalds, is a woman singer/songwriter who doubles as a touring band member of múm.
Arnalds' third album, Sudden Elevation, is due out February 2013, with a preceding single, "A Little Grim," to come out January 28th. Why you should be excited about the new album is that it will be written and sung entirely in English. We will find out more details about the new album closer in 2013, but you can get exclusive updates and unique album releases on Pledge Music.
Arnalds was classically educated on the violin and self-taught on viola, guitar and charango, and her voice, as described by Björk as "somewhere between a child and an old woman."
