Read More Coldplay I see there are quite a few bands announcing fall/winter tour dates, except for that "it's all yellow" band, Coldplay. They're giving away a nine-track live...

In a recent conversation with Brody, we talked about what bands we would pay $500 to see. I said, if Morrissey & Johnny Marr and the two "lawnmower parts" Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce played a Smiths set - that would be well worth the five hundred clams. Brody, hands down, said it would be Coldplay. He loves them.
So anyway, Coldplay is releasing their live album, Live 2012, to be out on Blu-Ray/CD, DVD/CD and digital on November 19th.
Live 2012 is the Coldplay's first concert film in nine years, it documents the band's Mylo Xyloto world tour. If you missed the tour, or just a massive fan, this is the perfect item for your holiday checklist.
Concert footage includes Madrid, Paris, Los Angeles, Montreal and at the Glastonbury Festival.
Coldplay is currently in Australia on tour:
Tue 11/13/12 Melbourne, Australia Etihad Stadium
Sat 11/17/12 Sydney, Australia Allianz Stadium
Sun 11/18/12 Sydney, Australia Allianz Stadium
Wed 11/21/12 Brisbane, Australia Suncorp Stadium

Surely you are familiar with these various compilation albums. It started off as "Now That's What I Call Music" but have spun off in many different specialty compilation, such as Now That's What I Call Jazz to Musica Latino to Holiday songs.
With over 80 "Now" albums in the original series (over 100+ in all the spin-offs), this is one of the most recognized various artists compilation.
To me, the people that buys these compilation are hardcore fans of one artist. Or they got it as a gift. Or they found it in the clearance bin. That's pretty much how I come across owning some of these Now CDs.
Anyway, Now That's What I Call Today's Christmas is out now and features Coldplay's song, "Christmas Lights."

We wrote about Rhythms Del Mundo about five years ago, we liked the modern-day bands like Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand but with a Cuban Latina twist.
Well, Rhythms del Mundo is back with a new project, they are once again, taking modern songs to an African beat! Yes, your favorite Beyonce, Mumford & Sons, and Coldplay are all getting the African treatment.
Look for this charity album, Rhythms del Mundo: Africa, to be out November 20th on The End Records. The people behind Rhythms del Mundo are Artists Project Earth (APE), and they were formed by Kenny Young to help raise awareness for climate change and disaster relief projects.
They are hoping money raised by Rhythms del Mundo: Africa will help replant trees in the UK, Africa, Mexico and Brazil, as well as wetland conservations in Uganda, etc. You can find more detail on their work on apeuk.org.

Wondering what Coldplay's bassist Guy Berryman is up to? Me too. He's gone on to produce James Levy and the Blood Red Rose's album Pray To Be Free, out now on Heavenly Recordings and Cooperative Music.
You are probably wondering how Berryman got involved with James Levy, well, as it turns out, he produced The Pierces' 2011 album, You & I, which they covered Levy's "Glorious" song. I guess he must have gotten in contact with Levy through that album… at least that's my best guest.
Guy Berryman fell in love with James Levy and Allison Pierce's vocals, so he produced Pray To Be Free to sound like "romance in all its guises; dark, twisted, hopeful and joyful."
