Sure, the main event on Friday's Hopscotch is Jesus and Mary Chain, but if that's not your thing, check out Dan Deacon at The Pour House Music Hall on September 7th. He is headlining with Black Skies, Pallbearer, and Corrosion of Conformity, as openers.
Hot off his cover star on Under the Radar's Protest Issue this week (he is one of two covers; the other featuring Tegan and Sara.) The issue features stories on the Occupy movements, gay and queer issues, etc.
Also, NPR is streaming Dan Deacon's album, America, on NPR.org… this is in lead to his album release next Tuesday, August 28th, via Domino Records.
You can also check out Deacon's Soundcloud page, which he put up his epic "USA" song, lasting 21 minutes (but broken into four parts on the album).
Starting Wednesday, Deacon goes on a national tour:
