Crocodiles are a noise pop band from San Diego. I've read that they're influenced by Jesus and Mary Chain, so I can see why Amy would love this band (hopefully if things work out, she'll be covering the band at 7th Street in Minneapolis this June 22nd*).
Crocodiles' third album, Endless Flowers, came out June 5th via Frenchkiss Records. The album was recorded in Berlin, and features the band's full five-piece lineup (I mean who wouldn't want to be part of a fun travel to Germany for recording music!)
The band is currently in the middle of their Summer tour to promote Endless Flowers, expect to see all five band members: singer/guitarist Brandon Welchez, guitarist Charles Rowell, keyboardist Robin Eisenberg, bassist Marco Gonzalez, and drummer Anna Schulte.

fangisland.com
Brooklyn's Fang Island got their name from a fictitious island, briefly mentioned in an Onion headline about Donald Rumsfeld's secret lair.
Recently, Fang Island premiere another song, "Sisterly", from their forthcoming new album, Major, at Pitchfork.
Singer/guitarist Jason Bartell had this to say about their music:
One of our core ideas has always been that our songs would be all of your favorite parts of the song that other bands make you wait 8 minutes to get to. We wanted to be the band that's nothing but your favorite hooks back to back.
Look for Major to be available on various music formats on July 24th, via Sargent House Records. Or you can pick up a copy at one of their live show:

DINOSAUR JR
www.dinosaurjr.com
Yes, I know, Dinosaur Jr broke up in the late 90's. Then about five years ago, the band got back together and produced their album, Beyond. Since then, J Mascis did some solo stuff, created another band called Sweet Apple, but last year, I noticed he came back to his Dinosaur Jr project with a constant touring schedule.
The band announced that they have a new album, I Bet On Sky, coming out in September on [PIAS] Records. The album marks the band's 10th LP since their original debut, Dinosaur, in 1985.

LITTLE DRAGON
little-dragon.net We like Little Dragon, covered them a few times here. Haven't heard much from the band lately, it's probably because the USA isn't their main focus right now. The last thing I got about the band was that in their live performance at Le Baron Chinatown in May 2012, they unveiled a new song called "Sunshine". You can watch the session at Youtube, courtesy of ENCORE! Sessions, made possible by creative collaborator ABSOLUT and produced by </FORWAR:D>. |
LAST DINOSAURS
myspace.com Last Dinosaurs are from Brisbane, Australia. They recently announced their video for "Andy", which you can watch via Youtube. The song comes from their debut album, In A Million Years, which came out in March in Australia… but was never officially released in the States. The band is currently playing in London (13 Jun: Breakout Club Night, 16 Jun: Lovebox Festival) and will be returning to Australia to play Splendour In The Grass. |
