JONATHAN COULTON

You might remember that Jonathan Coulton was one of the first artists we spotlighted in 2007. That "Thing A Week" thing, really blew up for him.
So the computer programmer and geek guy all-around dude is doing a headlining tour this June in support of his last album, Artificial Heart (which reached #1 on the Billboard Heatseeker Chart last year).
I was supposed to have seen him with They Might Be Giants last year, but it never happened. Perhaps I'll have better luck this year at the fancy Guthrie Theater this year.

I've mention this before, but it seems within the last year or so, that Los Angeles' Best Coast duo (Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno) really blew up. They just seem to have come out of nowhere, being on Pitchfork's "Top 50 Albums" and appearing in Spin Magazine, etc.
So, did you pick up their latest album, The Only Place, this Tuesday (May 15th)? Well, you can still get it in stores, or when you see the band live in person. You can get a free download of the title track, "The Only Place", at mexicansummer.com.
