THE PUPPINI SISTERS
thepuppinisisters.com
This British trio*, The Puppini Sisters, are not real life sisters (unlike their idols The Andrew Sisters**), but they do that vocal harmonizing thing like a real family. Obviously, if you can't tell, they mostly sing 40s/50s style music, and in that tradition, they've released Christmas With The Puppini Sisters out now on Verve Records.
So, if you ever wanted to know what Wham! would sound like sung by three harmonizing women, well, the answer is The Puppini Sisters.
PALLERS

Just briefly, I'd thought I'd spotlight this free Christmas single from the band Pallers, who are taking a break from recording their forthcoming debut album. According to the note I got from Labrador Records, they said, "Pallers continue their exploration of dreamy, cosmic sounds on the boundaries between ambient, pop and choirboy grime. ".
Is that what you think of when you hear "Arctic Hymn" ? You can download the song (as well as other wonderful Swedish indiepop music) at www.labrador.se.
* Off topic, but I think there used to be a fourth girl singer.
** PS, The Andrew Sisters are from Minnesota, the frozen State that I'm in.
