Imagine my surprise when I found out that not only are the progressive and operatic metal band Queensrÿche are alive and well - but they are actually going to be on tour! It's in June, which is quite a few months away, but perhaps if you want a guarantee seating, you should get your tickets early.
For those of you who grew up in the 90s, you might remember Empire and Operation: Mindcrime. Empire was especially accessible to a much wider audience outside of metal.
What's interesting about these recent tour is that these shows are basically Operation: Mindcrime performed live. If you've heard this album, it's kind of like a rock opera. The show will run about three hours, including an intermission and will also includes actors re-enacting the storyline.
Anyway, check the link (which basicaly is a press release) to read more information, here's an excerpt of the tour dates:
- Glasgow Academy: June 13
- Newcastle City Hall: June 14
- Leeds University: June 15
- Manchester Academy: June 17
- Wolverhampton Civic Hall: June 18
- Norwich UEA: June 20
- Cambridge Corn Exchange: June 21
- London Indigo: June 22
- Bristol Colston Hall: June 24
- Southampton Guildhall: June 25
