"finespun", as defined by the dictionary is:
developed with extreme delicacy and subtlety
I wouldn't define the New York band, Finespun, as subtle since they're loud... but it's interesting that they chose that name for their band. The name conjures images that they spent great time and care crafting their music.
So, if you happened to catch W♥M Video #2, you know that I was expecting this band to sound metal, but they turned out to just be hard rock. There are some metal elements in their songs, but they sound more like Metallica & Soundgarden.
According to their press release, their music was used in an Accuvue Contact Lense series called Hampton High (see video in the sidebar). The show looks very well produced and edited. Very professional!
The song they used in the series is "Invisible", which is the last song on their latest EP, Against the Fallout.
Their lyrics are pretty deep, check out an excerpt of their lyrics:
Ever feel invincible?
Well everybody is criminal
Well all I know couldn't fill these pages
Spent too much time trying to find
A savior's still searching but I'm invisible
Invisible
Surprisingly the song that's also the name of the EP is not the first song, but also toward the end. Usually the main track is listed first, so I don't know if they remixed the order of the songs when it came to pressing the CD.
