Hammer No More The Fingers may sounds like a new torture horror movie, but, in fact, are a three-piece band from Durham, North Carolina. They just released their debut EP last Tuesday (November 13th) and are about to tour to promote it.
Their history seems to fairly short, as they are a very young band who's just finished schooling. According to their bio, they were old friends from 1994, playing and writing music. After spending time in school and elsewhere, they eventually all met up again in Chapel Hill last December.
Things must've came together pretty fast, because their EP was recorded and released, plus they played to a sold out crowd at their CD release party.
True to their influences, they do have this slight grunge/90s sound to them. Their best song is also the opening song off their debut. It's called "O.R.G.Y." and you can download the song off their record label: Power Team Records. I tried looking up what that stands for, and according to acronymattic it means "Offspring of Reed Graduates of Yesteryear" - but I doubt that is what the song is actually about. It really is about an orgy, if you listen to the song, he's singing:
Sweaty, naked bodies
Collapsing your screen and deck
What I want
I want it simply
The best way is to be direct.
Everyone, everyone, get in a circle
O.R.G.Y., I came here to do it
Hammer No More the Fingers is available now and can be purchased from powerteamrecords.com. You can catch them on tour if you happen to be in the North/East area of the US.
