Girls Don't Cry - Cobain

You know I have a fondness for all-girl bands (see random links), so I was excited to see this promo EP the other day.

According to the press kit, they claim that these girls sounds like Avril Lavigne^[W♥M] mixed with Kelly Clarkson, Fall Out Boy and the Stones.

It doesn't say anywhere the origin of their name, but I suspect it is a nod to "Boys Don't Cry" by The Cure.^[W♥M] I came to this conclusion, looking at their influences.

The song I've picked out for you is "Cobain", which is not a song about Nirvana, per se. It's about a cheating boyfriend, and following a break-up.

Cobain was playing on the radio
You told me you loved me
But I don't think so
She was just another girl you wanted to try
But you threw it all away the day you made me cry

Wait.... so girls do cry.
