The Influence has that kind of grunge sound. I thought I'd mention them because they are currently on tour for support of their sophomore album Pig Radio (which i think was released September 1st).
I tried searching around and I couldn't find this record for sale, so I'm not actually sure it's actually released to the general public (it's not even available on iTunes).
Well, if you catch them on tour, that's probably a sure way to pick up the album.
So according to their biography, they shifted their sound from an acoustic sound to a more guitar-driven album with Pig Radio. I did check out "Ocean of Mine", the third track off their debut album on their myspace, and it doesn't sound that acoustic. It may be a little mellowier, but there's nothing wrong with that.
The song that really stood out on Pig Radio, I thought was "Cielo Sin Sol" (Sky Without the Sun). The chorus is sung in Spanish.
pobrecito su mundo se acabo
entre las tierras y las mares
pobrecito su mundo se alcanzara
la aucencia de sus mares
I don't really know what that means, something about the earth and the sky and the sea... maybe Cristina can help translate.
Update: I see that the band also regards that song as a strong song and will be releasing it as the lead single.

This is tough because my Spanish is limited, and it's difficult to convey the same sentiment. But this is how I read it...
poor little one... your world has ended
between the land and the sky
poor little one... your world will reach
to the absence of your seasThat's a pretty rough translation... not sure how to reword it so it would make more sense in English.
