As a mini-tribute I searched my iTunes library for songs about America by non-American artists. I have selected two songs and one poem all entitled "America". The first by an Australian band called Sodastream (I have Vu to thank for their inclusion in my iTunes library). The next track is by the British band Razorlight. I was tempted to include a song by Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen or one of the many great American musicians instead I opted for a poem about America read by one of your American poets.
And, simply because I am a fan of this historical document, I finish by repeating the preamble of Declaration of Independence. I offer no commentary other than it still contains some beautiful ideas - Ryan
When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
