There's a ton of really good theme songs from old television shows. Can you name anything remotely catchy as Perfect Stranger (David Pomeranz's "Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now") or the The Fall Guy (Lee Major's "The Unknown Stuntman") in today's television show?
Well, I love this Lee Majors song (written by Glen A. Larson, Gail Jensen, and David Sommervill), "The Unknown Stuntman". The song makes reference to some stars of the 80s: Farrah Fawcett (his ex-wife), Sally Field, Bo Derek, Robert Redford, Cheryl Tiegs, Raquel Welch, Clint Eastwood, Jackie Smith, Cheryl Hansson, and Burt Reynolds.
The actual song contain these extra verses at the end:
They'll never make me president but I've got the best first ladies.
Some days I've got 'em as far as the eye can see.
A morning dive with Jackie Smith, I crash in the night with Cheryl,
But in the end they never stay with me.I might fall from a tall building so Burt Reynolds don't get hurt,
I might leap a mighty canyon so he can kiss and flirt.
While that smooth talker's kissin' my girl I'm just kissin' dirt,
Yes, I'm the lonely stuntman that made a lover out of Burt
I remember watching this show when I got home from elementary school (this and Simon & Simon and Magnum PI). I'm glad to see The Fall Guy on DVD (released June 5, 2007) :)
