This is a true story that happened to my roommate and I. We were in Chicago and just exploring the city. We made it over to Navy Pier on foot and discovered the beach that was located next to it. So my roommate (who shall remain nameless) decided he was going to jump into the lake to have a swim.
After the swim, he went around the bush to change his shorts. I was sitting in the sun and suddenly I got a phone call from him.
"Is my wallet there?," he asked in a frantic voice.
He must've dropped it while carrying his shorts! We spent forever just looking for the wallet in the grass and bush and plants. When we gave up and accepted that the wallet was lost forever, he called and canceled all his cards.
So this is actually where the story really begins. I didn't have enough cash for us to ride the bus to the Red Line to the Cellular Fields to see the White Sox play against Houston Astros.
It is about five and a half miles (we had already walked about four miles earlier just exploring the city)! So we decided to start walking and if we saw an ATM, I would get some cash out (the bus and trains only took exact cash). Of course, by the time we actually found a cash machine, we were already really close to the baseball field :/
So, here are some songs I like that relate to my walking story:
A post script to the story, my roommate suggested that we have to agreed that he was mugged because he was too embarrassed that he just simply dropped his wallet somewhere. I told him that it wouldn't make any sense that they'd mug him for his wallet but left his phone.
Then in my mind, I imagined some guy throwing the phone back at my roommate saying that his phone was pathetically obsolete!
PS, sorry about not having any information on the band - these are all really good solid songs in my opinion. The Ventures are an all-instrumental band (they did the Hawaii 5-0 theme song!), Chicago have a lot of blues artists (in fact Bluesfest was happening the week we were there). Marmalade was previously mentioned, and the Proclaimers and Chicago are very very famous bands.
