I have begun the first steps of turning into an Arizonan (Zonie?). I walked outside today and thought to myself, "It's kind of humid today." I checked the weather report and we're clocking in at a whopping 19%! Pretty soon, I'm going to start thinking 75° is chilly. In honor of this auspicious occasion, I give you a local band called "The Format" that I heard on the radio last night.
For those of you who think that your resident Mook is finally turning cutting edge and current with his music selections, be not afraid! The Format seem to have broken up at the end of last year, so I am still bringing you songs by bands that no longer exist!
This track got me thinking about the Yard Dogs Road Show and The Bastard Faeries. It's got a nice cabaret feel to it. (And for those of you who aren't local, "cabaret" apparently means "strip club" in the local parlance. It must be some crazy zoning thing.) I don't think I could imagine a modern day pole dancer doing the bump and grind to this number, but it does harken back to the old timey burlesque numbers of yore.
