This post is just a response to Garbage - I Think I'm Paranoid.
Shirley Manson's music career started off in the band, Goodbye Mr. Mackenzie, as backing vocals and keyboard player, at the age of 16.
After Capitol Records refusal to release their second album Hammer & Tongs (1991), they signed onto Radioactive Records.
By 1993, most of the members of Mackenzie went on to form Angelfish. Shirley Manson is also the lead singer, and they had a semi-hit (their video was played a few times on MTV's 120 Minutes) with "Suffocate Me".
Steve Marker caught the video and introduce the music to Butch Vig. Vig asked Manson to join Garbage, which lead to Angelfish breaking up.
Angelfish had two releases, the Suffocate Me EP (1993) and Angelfish (1994), if you don't count the sleeveless promo Heartbreak To Hate.
I picked up their album at Amoeba Records in Berkeley for a mere $1.95.
