How funny is this: Gregorian Monks singing "Losing My Religion" - oh the irony!
First of all, this particular band (simply Gregorian) are not real monks, but a couple of guys from Germany, who transform modern pop music to Gregorian chant-style singing. They spawned quite a few copycat chant-style groups, so just be aware of which albums they've release.
They were originally inspired by another German band, Enigma, who you may remember from the early 90s. By 1994, recordings of real Gregorian monks were available on CD, with the famous and successful Chant CD, so perhaps this was one of the reason that Gregorian abandoned the Enigma sound and went closely to the Gregorian chants, in the 7-tone scale.
They have pretty much released one album per year since 2000. Their last one was a Christmas album in 2006.
